Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of StoreA11y. They are written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, ask before you buy.

Effective 21 August 2026

These Terms form an agreement between you and [PROPRIETOR NAME], a sole proprietorship established in India, trading as StoreA11y(“we”, “us”), with its place of business at [FULL POSTAL ADDRESS]. By running a scan or purchasing a report you accept them.

1. What the service does

StoreA11y loads publicly reachable pages of a website in a headless browser and tests them with axe-core against the WCAG 2.1 level A and AA rules that can be evaluated automatically. It returns a list of detected issues, ranks them, and — on paid tiers — provides written remediation guidance and a PDF report.

2. What the service does not do

This is the most important section of these Terms. Read it before you buy.

  • Automated testing detects only a subset of accessibility barriers — commonly estimated at 30–40% of WCAG success criteria. A scan that returns no findings does not mean a site is free of accessibility barriers.
  • We do not certify anything, and we do not issue conformance statements, VPATs or Accessibility Conformance Reports. Nothing we provide states that a website meets the ADA, the European Accessibility Act, EN 301 549, WCAG or any other standard.
  • Our reports are not legal advice and do not create a lawyer-client relationship. They do not immunise you against a demand letter, a complaint or a regulatory action.
  • We do not perform manual testing, assistive-technology testing, keyboard walkthroughs or cognitive-accessibility assessment. A complete assessment requires a qualified human auditor.
  • We do not modify your website. We install nothing, inject nothing and require no access to your admin, theme or hosting.

3. Who may use it

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. The service is offered to businesses. If you are acting as a consumer, statutory consumer rights in your country apply in addition to these Terms and are not limited by them.

4. Websites you may scan

You may submit a website only where you own it, operate it, or have permission from the person who does. You are responsible for holding that authority. Do not use the service to scan a site in order to harass its operator or to build a case against a third party.

Scanning consumes the target site’s resources. We limit each scan to 20 pages, cap each page at 15 seconds, identify our crawler honestly as StoreA11yBot with a contact URL, and rate-limit repeat scans of the same host. See the bot page for how to block us.

5. Access without an account

There are no logins. A scan and its report are reached by an unguessable identifier in the URL. Anyone holding that link can view the report, so treat it as a credential. If you forward it, you have shared the report. You can re-send your own links from the recovery page.

6. Fees, and when you are charged

Prices are shown on the site in US dollars. Payment is taken by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record and is the seller of record for tax purposes; their terms also apply to the transaction, and your card details are handled by them and are never seen by us.

You are charged at checkout, before the full 20-page scan is run. Purchasing triggers the paid scan; the report and PDF are produced afterwards, usually within a few minutes. If that scan does not complete, you have not received what you paid for, and our Refund Policy commits us to refunding you in full.

Monitoring is a recurring subscription billed monthly until cancelled. You may cancel at any time and it will not renew.

7. Immediate delivery and the right to withdraw

Reports are digital content delivered immediately. Where you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days — but that right is lost for digital content once supply has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose it.

At checkout you are asked to give that consent explicitly. If you do, you agree that the report is generated immediately and that your 14-day withdrawal right ends at that point. This does not affect the refund commitments we make voluntarily in our Refund Policy, nor any right you have where the service was faulty.

8. Ownership

The report we generate for your website is yours. You may use it internally, share it with your developers, agency or contractors, and reproduce it for your own records or in dealings with a regulator or counterparty.

You may not resell our reports as a product, or extract our remediation guidance to build or train a competing service. The scanning software, the prioritisation method and the remediation guidance library remain ours. axe-core is the work of Deque Systems and is used under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.

9. Your data

How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

10. Availability

We offer no uptime guarantee. The service may be unavailable for maintenance, or because a dependency we rely on is unavailable. Some websites cannot be scanned at all — those behind passwords, bot-protection challenges, IP blocking or aggressive geo-routing. That is not a defect in the service, and where it prevents delivery you are refunded.

11. Warranties

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In particular we make no representation that use of the service will cause any website to meet any accessibility standard, satisfy any legal obligation, or prevent any claim being brought.

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, or for any claim, demand letter, penalty, settlement or judgment brought against you by a third party in relation to the accessibility of your website.

The reason for that last exclusion is the reason it is stated so plainly elsewhere on this site: an automated scan cannot find every barrier, and buying one does not transfer your obligations to us.

13. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your submitting a website you had no authority to scan, or from your use of a report in breach of section 8.

14. Suspension

We may suspend or refuse service where we reasonably believe it is being used to attack a third party’s website, to evade rate limits, or unlawfully. Where we do so without cause on your part, we refund any unused amount.

15. Changes

We may amend these Terms. The version in force when you purchase governs that purchase. A material change takes effect for future purchases when published, with the effective date updated at the top of this page.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at [CITY], [STATE], India have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and mandatory consumer-protection law there continues to apply.
